What is the Fetch TV Privacy Policy

The Fetch TV Privacy Policy sets out details of what information We collect about You, how We keep it and what We do with it. This Privacy Policy forms part of the Fetch TV Terms and Conditions which can be seen at http://www.fetchtv.co.uk which have to be accepted before You can Register to use the Fetch TV Services and Acquire and Access Content. Many of the words used in this Privacy Policy are defined in the Fetch TV Terms and Conditions. We comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998. We are registered as a Data Controller with the Office of the Information Commissioner.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Like our Terms and Conditions of which this Privacy Policy forms a part, this Privacy Policy may be changed without notice to You at any time. Any changes will be contained in a new Privacy Policy which will be placed on the Fetch TV Web Site http://www.fetchtv.co.uk in place of this Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy displayed on the Web Site at any time will be the current Privacy Policy applicable at that time and form part of the Terms and Conditions which form the basis of the Contract between Fetch TV and You each time You Acquire and/or Access Content.

Information that we collect

We collect the IP (Internet Protocol) address of Your computer when You visit the Web Site. We normally collect Your name, address, e-mail address, telephone and/or mobile phone numbers and Card details for the purposes of Registering You.

We also collect information on when and how You use the Fetch TV Web Site and Fetch TV Services and Content; including what and when you acquire Content and information about when You Access Content.

We may from time to time collect additional information about You and We may receive information about You as part of information we collect, receive or Acquire from Third Parties, for example as part of our marketing and market research efforts.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that web sites place on Your computer and Set Top Box when You visit them. Cookies enable the web site server to recognise Your computer and Set Top Box the next time You visit the web site. Cookies can also be used to store information related to what content you have acquired or accessed. Fetch TV like other web site operators uses Cookies when You visit the Web Site. Cookies should be enabled in Your computer browser when You visit the Web Site.

Why We Collect Information about You and what We use it for

We collect information as part of Your Registration so that we can identify you and Your Fetch TV Set Top Box, link Your Set Top Box to Your Fetch TV Account and communicate with You and Your Fetch TV Set Top Box. We collect IP addresses to enable Us to record use of Our Web Site.

This information can also assist Us to develop and improve the Web Site and to keep the operating software or firmware for Your Fetch TV Set Top Box up to date.

We also collect information on how You use the Fetch TV Web Site and Fetch TV Services and on what and when You Acquire and Access Content to enable Us to provide You with better Fetch TV Services.

Collecting this information from You makes it possible for Us to have a better understanding of how We can improve Our Fetch TV Services to better meet Your needs. We can Use it to offer you new Content and new Services that We think You will want to know about and to improve Your experience of using Fetch TV Services.

We may contact You with information about availability of Content which We believe, from the Information We hold, that You may be interested to receive or Acquire. In future, We may be able to download to Your Set Top Box (for example at times when the internet and broadband capacity is not so heavily used) Content You have indicated You are interested in acquiring or Content We believe You may be interested in Acquiring (You will have no obligation to Acquire such Content). In future We may be able to offer You Access to Your favourite Content at an earlier date than that Content is Scheduled to be broadcast.

* Where required to do so by a court or regulatory body or by law we may pass on information We hold about You
* Any companies in the Fetch TV Group to contact you to offer You products and Services (with Your consent indicated when You Register)
* When You Acquire Content, contact information about You may be passed by Us to the Content Licensor so that they can contact you to offer you products and services (with Your consent indicated when You Register)
* Any of Our commercial partners so that they can contact you to offer you products and services (with Your consent indicated when You Register)

In addition, Our media and other commercial partners may have access to or be provided with aggregated anonymous information We collect and hold about our customers. This information cannot be used to identify You by name or Your address. For example it could be that 7,000 customers in London Acquired particular Content.

We may also employ the services of third party contractors to collect and process the information We collect about You. When We do so, We use reputable professional contractors who have signed contracts requiring that the information is maintained in strict confidence and used only as We instruct in accordance with the requirements of applicable legislation.

Security

We use reasonable commercial efforts to retain all the information we collect in confidence and to avoid any inadvertent release of that information. The information is stored securely in the United Kingdom and European Economic Area and is not held or processed outside the European Economic Area. All Card, Password and/or PIN information shall be maintained using at least 128-bit encryption algorithm while stored in Our or Our agent’s database.

We will never ask You for Your Password and/or PIN Number in calls (if any) We make to You. Where You call us we may ask for parts of Your Password and/or PIN to verify Your identity but We will NEVER ask for Your entire Password and/or PIN.

We will never ask You for Your Password and/or PIN Number in e-mails (if any) We send to You. Where You contact Us on Our Web Site always type in the Web Site address and NEVER click on a link in an e-mail. The only correct Web Site address is http://www.fetchtv.co.uk to access Your account at Fetch TV.
